Description

The Genital – Microscopy, Culture and Sensitivity (MC&S) with fungal testing for children under 12 years is used to investigate suspected bacterial or fungal genital infections.

A genital swab sample is examined microscopically to detect bacteria, fungi, or inflammatory cells, followed by culture to identify the causative organism. Sensitivity testing is performed to guide appropriate antimicrobial or antifungal treatment. Due to the age of the patient this test can only be ordered by a medical professional.
